Swirling ribbons of water; a graceful alternative to the water bubble.
The basepack contains a NoMod/Copy version in one configuration. The basepack+HUD (sold separately) allows you to change to any of the eight preset configurations, or even to make your own configuration with your own texture. To use the basepack, simply attach. With the HUD, you can customize the size, the texture, the glow, the alpha, the fullbright, and the visibility mode. There are three visibility modes:
The rotations change regularly, so the swirl patterns are always changing. A tutorial on how to use the HUD can be found here. |
History
This product has been swirling in my head for at least a year. I had seen the water bubbles around and I thought that it was a shame that the bubble sullied the beauty of the mer. I understood that the bubble was needed to "explain" how a mermaid could survive on land without drying up.
However, having been very busy and realizing that the water bubbles were being sold very cheap, if not given away for free, I didn't see the need to create the product.
In December 2011, Mz Marville asked me to be a part of the fashion show that she was organizing as part of her rez day celebrations. She wanted to feature designers that were significant in her SL. I agreed. However, the fashion show was a mix of mer and landwalker fashions. So, she had planned to create a water block for the runway, but logistics made it very inconvenient. At the same time, she commented that she *hated* the water bubbles, so I remembered the idea again. I promised her I would have a solution the next day. And "Eddy" was born.
When I sent her the prototype the next day, Mz was delighted.
