Mer animation overriders (AOs)

Picture
Kami Hitoe by Sala Snook
  • For mesh tails, Kami Hitoe is poised to release a set of AOs in late August 2015. Watch this space for news.
  • For old-fashioned tails, "Dance with the Waves" AO is a very fun (if a bit too antsy) AO.  The stands look like dances and can be distracting when you're having a serious discussion.  But you'll enjoy watching your avatar and so would others around you.  This AO was not particularly intended for skirtless tails, so see the tip below.
Tip: You can still wear some AOs that are not intended for skirtless mer tails.  If the AO splits up the knees and your shape is modifiable, you can do the following:
  1. Create a copy of your shape, name it "mermaid shape", and wear it.
  2. Go into Appearance to edit your mermaid shape.
  3. Go to the Legs section and scroll down to the bottom.
  4. Move the "Knee Angle" slider to the left (knock-kneed).
  5. You can experiment with how far to move the slider until the AO doesn't split your knees anymore.  The value will vary depending on your leg length and leg muscles.
