SkimSurfaceSimple

Picture
SkimSurfaceSimple is a script that keeps your avatar near the surface level when activated.  Very simple to use and can be added to any modifiable tail.

v1.0 is included in all Mer Betta tails from Series 3 through 5, and some older tails.

v2.0 is an OPTIONAL UPGRADE and is now available.  The only difference is that the offset from the water surface is adjustable, which is required when used with mer AOs that do not lift the torso higher than normal.  If v1.0 (plus your AO) makes your body hover near the water surface with your head above water, you do not need this upgrade.

To use
  1. If not already in your tail, edit your tail and add the script to the Contents tab of the Edit dialog.
  2. When the script resets or when you wear your tail, the script will say "STATUS: OFF" in your chat history.
  3. To activate, simply touch the tail with the script, and the script will say "STATUS: ON" in your chat history.
  4. Click the Fly button to move to the water surface.
  5. To sink back down, click Stop Flying.
  6. If you want the flexibility to swim at any altitude even in Fly mode, touch the tail again to set the status to OFF.

The upgrade has been sent to all Mer Betta customers who purchased the script separately or purchased a Series 3 / Series 4 / Series 5 tail.  If you own v1.0 of the script and have not received your upgrade, please contact Opal Lei.

History

The idea came to me while swimming and exploring with my pod sister Drea Janus.  She giggled because I ended up high in the air after swimming for a while.  Second Life raises your avatar up at a slight angle as you fly, and it takes several tries to get back to the right height at the water surface when on Fly mode.
