Introduced in April 2008.  (Series 2 Version 1 tails were introduced in August 2007 and phased out when version 2 was released.)

Improvements over v1
* Thigh smoother and root prim of tail were replaced with original sculpties.
* Tail textures were tweaked to work better with the sculpted prim when they flow.
* SkimSurfaceSimple script was introduced and included in each tail.
* Permissions were changed to Modify/Copy.
* Barechested tops (with only the arm scales) were included for mermen and for mermaids who prefer less coverage.
